First put to quill by the Beedle in the fifteenth century, The Tales of Beedle the Bard are full of magic and trickery. Meant to entertain and instruct, this uniquely magical volume of diverse fairy tales have been favorite reading in wizarding households for centuries . . .
In 2007, J.K. Rowling composed seven handwritten copies of The Tales of the Beedle and the Bard to creating a real-life version of the previously fictional collection of stories referred to in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. One of these handwritten copies was auctioned to raise money for children's charities, and the hype surrounding it led to the book version being published internationally the following year.
