~ Oversize Hardcover (22 x 28.5cm)
A collection of works by nearly one hundred and fifty artists, complimented by inquisitive essays from David Campany and Gregory Eddi Jones, Primal Sight surveys the current state of contemporary black-and-white photography.
Proving that color is unnecessary to convey emotion and meaning, Primal Sight is an enormous project that includes the works of intergenerational, interdisciplinary, and intersectional artists, with each entry designed to question the perceived order of things.
Images are primarily printed on black pages with white ink, a subversion that questions photography's reliance on light. Sharing a tonal vocabulary, Primal Sight's photographs pose different visual questions.
